You have to use the stairs!

We all love our grandkids. They are a source of joy, pride, and love. So why am I writing about elevators? Because we have to rally to help motivate our grandkids. We know what it was like, early in their childhood; trying something new was easy. Since we live in a microwave society, it can be challenging for us to know how to help them stay motivated and engaged for the long ride.

What is Charm school, and what does it teach? Sometimes called Finishing schools, these programs focused on teaching social graces. In the 1800s, these schools were established to train young women to become polished, accomplished wives and socialites. In other words, preparing them for marriage.

This is one of those quotes that speak volumes without too many words. We all have more things than we need, there’s no doubt about that. Upon realizing that, consider donating things, doing so will give you a little more space in your lives. More space to create, think, and be free. How does the saying go? Have you ever heard the dreaded, “I’m B-O-R-E-D!”

I have. As a matter of fact, to be totally transparent, I also said, “I’m B-O-R-E-D,” a time or two in my childhood.

Now, as adults, we don't want kids to sit around bored for hours but believe it or not, there is a right and wrong way to handle the situation.

We haven't ever heard THAT said before, have we? Of course not! But if we are honest with ourselves, chances are that we can remember a time or two that we said it during our childhood. Be honest…I won't tell. After all, I, too, can vividly remember many times. One time, I invited my teddy bears, bunnies, stuffed animals, and coveted doll to my tea party. My sister decided my doll didn't need to be part of my elaborate festivity and was whisked away for another adventure.

Princesses are getting a bad rap today.

To all grandparents, your granddaughters are princesses. How many times have you called her "my princess ."Most little girls aspire to be princesses and love playing dress-up, sporting a fancy dress and a crown. What little girl doesn’t? OK, I wanted to be Annie Oakley, but I'm sure I wanted to be a princess.
