Polish, too, didn’t take much thought since we are Polish and were used to many of their native dishes. However, we did get creative and had an all-American Picnic where we ate on the floor with a tablecloth and basket. And we didn’t forget the ants disguised as chocolate-covered raisins.

Our middle son's most prized possession is his grandpa's Virginia Tech class ring. His grandpa proposed to his wife at the ring ceremony in 1954. This unique ring has a replacement stone with the Hoge Family Crest, making it even more significant. At the upcoming graduation ceremony from Virginia Tech, our son received the ring to acknowledge his achievement as the next generation of engineers and the fourth generation of Virginia Tech graduates. The joy on our son's face when he received the gift was priceless. Fortunately, his grandfather enjoyed the moment before he passed away a week later.
