Not My Money: The Journey from Concept to Publication

CJ Corki's "Not My Money" video details the process of turning our idea into a published book. The journey begins with idea generation and is followed by research and planning. Writing the manuscript comes next, focusing on creating compelling narratives in various short stories. This is followed by editing and revising, often involving multiple rounds. The publishing phase involves choosing between traditional and self-publishing. We chose self-publishing. Finally, marketing and promotion are essential to reach a wider audience. Throughout, we emphasize the importance of passion, dedication, and perseverance in overcoming challenges and achieving success.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: Smart Kids Struggling with Learning Differences

Why is my smart first grader struggling in school? Learn about Dyslexia and how it can be identified as early as preschool.

One in five children has dyslexia. As a parent with 30 years of experience raising two dyslexic boys, I want to bring awareness about this learning style difference to other parents and teachers. We will discuss some of the first signs of dyslexia through real-life examples and funny stories. Dyslexia isn’t just about letter reversal. Words can seem like they are jumping all over the page, but kids don’t know what is wrong. They develop poor self-esteem and become depressed or disruptive. We show you the common signs in preschool, kindergarten, and grade school. We discuss why it is critical to find out early and what can be done about it. We offer learning tips and helpful accommodation as well as what kind of emotional support might be necessary. We consider it a special gift, a SUPERPOWER. Join the discussion to raise awareness because every kid deserves the right to read.
